A Cry For The Prodigals

At the Detling Summer Conference in 2009 we held a special time of worship and prayer, a crying, (literally in many cases), to God for these loved ones - culminating in the symbolic act of releasing a balloon into the heavens. Attached to the balloon was the name of that person for whom we particularly prayed and in this act we both released the person to God and agreed to pray for them with renewed fervour and with the intention of bringing them to a special evangelistic celebration at Detling in 2010.

With every balloon released a voucher was given to exchange for a complimentary day ticket. To make the exchange click here and follow the instructions.

What Next?

Not everyone we are concerned for will be able to come to Detling next year; it’s not practical or necessarily suitable for everyone. That is why we have come up with the idea of THE AWAKENING TOUR where we bring a team to your Church or group of Churches in your town; usually we would firstly have an evening of prayer, worship and petition and then another, when you bring those relatives or friends for a special evangelistic event; where, please God, we will see many, many come to Christ.

Commitment

This sort of event will need of course a good deal of commitment from local Churches and will inevitably need funding. The first thing you will need to do is get a group together, locally who share the vision and can raise funds and organise the event. We can help but we won’t know your town and can’t do it all for you. It has to be a joint commitment.

Between Now and Then Bringing Home The Prodigals - Rob Parsons

Keep on praying. Never give up on those you love!

And here is something well worth reading, from Rob Parsons.

Rob Parsons’ message is for anyone who cares about prodigals. He urges us to be released from false guilt, to stop judging each other, and to remember that God, the perfect parent, has trouble with his children too. He challenges the church to recognize the part it has played in creating prodigals and says, “When our prodigals do come home, pray that they meet the father first and not the elder brother! But this is not just for other people. We suddenly see that the dirty, tearstained face coming down the road is our face. And then we discover what, deep in our heart, we knew all along we are the prodigal.”
